"Welcome to fructose friendly foodie"
Hi! My name is Helen.
I am a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. As such, I lead a very busy life with all the usual associated activities.
Because I have IBS and Fructose Malabsorption, I wanted to put up this website as a means of helping myself and others to cope with the problems that come with these conditions.
I really enjoy cooking and entertaining friends and family but I found that, although they were enjoying themselves, my tummy and I were not.
I had to cook a separate meal for me – but not anymore!!
I found alternatives because I felt like I was eating alone or at a “separate table”.
I’ve spent a great deal of time re-constructing my old recipes and creating new ones.
I will post my recipes and hopefully some good ideas that others might find to their liking.
I will also tell you how I handle the whole “eating out” experience.
Who knows? Maybe together we can influence a few of the waiters and chefs out there to make a few changes to a dish of our choice when we ask for them.
The website will be updated on a continuing basis and I would love it if some of you would contribute ideas and recipes for us all to share.
If, like me, you are confused about Fructose Malabsorption maybe you will find this website helpful.
I look forward to your comments and contributions.
